Troy Calton

Troy Calton grew up in a split home and learned to manipulate his way through life at a young age.

By 12, he was stealing alcohol, skipping school, and running the streets. Despite a brief glimpse of family stability while living with his grandparents, he spiraled deeper into addiction, eventually discovering crank and losing all interest in anything but getting high. He stole tens of thousands from his mother’s company, abandoned his responsibilities, and spent 18 years cycling in and out of jail and prison. Because of the lifestyle he chose, he was not a father to his four children.

Facing his seventh prison sentence, Troy heard about The Other Side Academy. With what he calls a miracle, he was given the chance to change. At TOSA, he found purpose in helping others who once stood in his shoes, proving that hope and redemption are possible. Today, as a mentor and staff member at The Other Side Thrift Boutique, Troy is dedicated to guiding others toward the happiness that once seemed out of reach.
